Marija Radovanović (2001, Belgrade) has received her first violin lession at the age of seven, and currently is a student of Univeristy of Art in Graz, Austria (since 2016, prof. Emilio Percan and prof. Vesna Stanković-Moffat) and the Folkwang University of Arts in Essen, Germany (since 2019, prof. Peter Daniel). She is a prizewinner of various competitions, such as International Kocian Violin Competition (Czech Republic), International Festival of “Music creativity” (Russia) and International competition for young musicians “Ohrid Pearls” (Macedonia). Marija has performed at various festivals, such as Ljubljana Festival, the Kaposfest, the Artlink Festival and the Moritzburg Festival. She has also been a participant of the Verbier Festival, where she was a concertmaster of Junior Orchestra. She is a soloist and concertmaster of the chamber orchestras “ArtLink Virtuosi” and “Camerata Balcania“.
Laura Llozi (1999, Tirana) began studying the violin at the age of five, and, since 2018, is a student of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna (MDW), where she sudies in the class of Stefan Kamilarov and also with Maestro Massimo Quarta, as of 2019. Laura has performed in a large number of concerts as a soloist,in chamber music and orchestras in Albania, Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Serbia, Macedonia, Portugal, The Netherlands, Bulgaria etc. Laura has been invited to international festivals like the Biennale “Nights of Classical Music” (where she performed the world premiere of 3 duos for violins from the spanish composer P. Perreiro), ArtLink festival (Serbia), Wonderfeel festival (The Netherlands), Chamber Fest Durres (Albania), Multicultural Festival BERAT (Albania) and Falesie in Musica festival (Italy). She is a member of Camerata Balcania since 2019.
Benjamin Haemhouts (Belgium) began his professional career as a trombonist with the Rotterdam Philharmonic and the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra. During this time, he conducted various youth orchestras and worked as assistant conductor to his teacher, Alexander Polyanichko. As a guest conductor he conducted the Belgian National Orchestra (Belgium), the Argovia Philharmonic (Switzerland), Brussels Philharmonic (Belgium), Bamberger Symphoniker (Germany), Guanajuato Symphony Orchestra and the Orquesta de Cámara de Bellas Artes (Mexico). In 2008 he became Artistic Director of the Belgian orchestra CASCO Phil focusing on innovative programs that emphasize contemporary music combined with classical music and his own compositions as well as commissioning many new works. Since 2019 he is also Artistic Director of the Antwerp Spring Festival to which he invites groundbreaking classical artists, ensembles, dance companies and orchestras as well as key players on the Belgian pop and rock scene, emphasizing the many different faces of the harbor city of Antwerp.
The Camerata Balcania brings together young classical music artists from the Western Balkans 6 (WB6) under the mentorship of conductor Benjamin Haemhouts (Belgium) and artistic director Jovanka Višekruna Janković – based on ArtLink’s 15 years of experience in successfully organising such collaboration. It is an Orchestra that showcases the best creative capacity of the Western Balkans, simultaneously showing the artistic excellence through synergies of different ethnic specificities, all united in a unique art expression and the characteristically warm Balkan temperament. The Camerata Balcania provides a comfortable, reassuring and inspiring environment where the young people can interact with each other, learn from prominent mentors and each other, thus advancing personally and professionally, and – most importantly – an environment suitable for the young artists to create together.
