Adam Balogh was born in 1997. He started to play piano at age seven and won eight national piano competitions until the age of 13, including the Budapest Festival Orchestra’s competition, which led to his orchestral debut in 2010 with them under Ivan Fischer. Since, he performed with Berlin Konzerthaus, Concerto Budapest, Pannon Philharmonic, Budapest Danubia, NYCA Philharmonic, and Zuglo Philharmonic orchestras. At the age of 12, he was accepted to the Exceptional Talents’ Class of Franz Liszt Academy Budapest, where he studied for 6 years with Attila Nemethy and Gabor Eckhardt.
He is a prizewinner of numerous international piano competitions, including the Takacs Jenő (Graz), Chopin (Budapest), a special prize winner of the 1st Cliburn Junior Competition, and a semifinalist of the Cooper Competition. Most recently he won the 2nd prize of the Bartók World Competition.
He is a recipient of scholarships from MOL, the Friends of the Franz Liszt Academy, the Hungarian Ministry of Human Resources, and the Mayor of the city of Pécs. Additionally, he is a recipient of the prestigiousJunior Prize of the Tüke Foundation of Pécs, and the national Junior Prima Award.
