Lana Zorjan


Lana Zorjan, a young violinist from Novi Sad, is one of the young talents supported by the ArtLink Association and is the winner of the ArtLink award for the Most Promising Young Artist in Serbia in 2023, and this year the international award for discovery in the field of classical music.

As a gifted violinist, Lana Zorjan was selected for the ArtLink program for young talents, and she had her first performance with the orchestra when she was seven years old when, as a soloist of the ArtLink chamber orchestra, she played Vivaldi’s “Spring” in the Belgrade City Assembly and on Slobode Square in Novi Sad. by the master of Kamerata Janacek, Pavel Doležal, who has been a radio mentor with young ArtLink virtuosos for several years, through the Visegrad-Balkan program for young talents, supported by the International Visegrad Fund.

The ArtLink Festival and Kamerata Balkanika ranked Lana among the most promising young artists in the region and organized her performances at the Ekit Festival, as well as within the cycle of Music on Fortresses, as well as within the ArtLink Festival where Lana had the opportunity to perform with the conductor Srboljub Dinić.

Lana’s performance with Kamerata Balkanik and conductor Srboljub Dinić at the Belgrade Fortress as part of the 11th ArtLink festival in 2023 was included on the CD edition of Kamerata Balkanik – Music for Peace, as part of an artistic residency led by conductor Srboljub Dinić, which was supported by Embassies of Switzerland and the Fund for the Western Balkans.

Lana Zorjan is 15 years old and has been playing the violin since the age of four. So far, she has won over 60 first and special prizes as well as laureates at international and national competitions in the country and abroad (Austria, Russia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sweden, Spain) and has realized over 300 concerts, public appearances, TV appearances…

She is the winner of one of the most important awards in the field of classical music, the International Classical Music Award – ICMA 2024 in the category “Discovery of the year” – discovery of the year.

She performed 26 performances as a soloist with 13 different professional orchestras in 4 European countries (Pardubice Chamber Philharmonic, Duna Szimfonikus Zenekar, Budafoki Dohnanyi Orchestra, Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra, Mostar Symphony Orchestra, SNP Opera Symphony Orchestra, Vojvodina Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, Kocijana 2022 Competitors Orchestra, Zrenjanin Chamber Orchestra, Art Link Chamber Orchestra, Kamerata Balkanika, MasterArt Academy Chamber Orchestra), performances in Moscow, Vienna, Budapest, Usti nad Orlica, Mostar and solo concerts in Ljubljana, Belgrade, Novi Sad, Subotica.

Conductors with whom Lana collaborated: Thomas Bauer, Toshifumi Kanai, Janos Kovacs, Pavel Doležal, Srboljub Dinić, Igor Tatarević, Aleksandar Kojić.

Lana is a scholarship recipient of the “Musik & Jugend” Foundation from Liechtenstein.

– Two concerts with the Pardubice Chamber Philharmonic at the opening of the Jaroslav Kocijan International Competition, 2023 in Usti nad Orlica and at the closing of the festival in Skuteč.

– Gala New Year’s concert in Budapest as a soloist of the Danube Symphony Orchestra, with maestro Janos Kovač and with the same orchestra a charity concert for the Edith Toros Foundation, maestro Toshifumi Kanai

– She realized her first professional concert tour as a soloist of the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra with 6 concerts in 6 cities of Vojvodina, in 2021.

– Soloist of the Kamerata Balkanika orchestra at the Art link festival in 2023.

– Gala concert of the “Grand prize virtuoso” laureate at Muzikferein in Vienna as a representative of Serbia alongside participants from 22 countries around the world.

– Moscow festival “Mosva meets friends” in the Alexander Shilov gallery at the invitation of the Spivakov Foundation under the auspices of UNESCO and the administration of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin in 2019 live, and in 2020 online.

– As a soloist of the Zrenjanin chamber orchestra, concerts in the Zrenjanin and Novi Sad City Halls, as well as in the Belgrade City Assembly in 2018. With the symphony orchestra of the Serbian National Theater, she performed as a soloist at the Christmas concert in 2020.

– As a soloist with the Art Link and Master Art Academy orchestras, she performed at concerts at the Residence of the US Ambassador, the Belgrade City Assembly, the Ilija Kolarac Endowment and at Freedom Square in Novi Sad in 2018.

As the winner of the special prize of the “Nutcracker” competition, Moscow, in April 2022, she was the first student from Serbia to attend the master class of Prof. Zakhar Bron in Interlaken, Switzerland, where she played at the final concert alongside the most talented young violinists from all over the world (USA, Poland, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Jamaica, Spain, Armenia, Russia…)

She participated as the youngest participant in Stefan Milenković’s two-week Master Class (July 2021 and August 2022 and 2023), where she eventually performed at the final concert as a soloist and as a member of the ensemble led by Stefan Milenković.

She is a regular student of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in the class of prof. Stefan Milenković, and the biggest influence on her musical and artistic development so far was Prof. Ivana Aćimoski-Žikić from the Faculty of Musical Arts in Belgrade and Prof. Imre Lakatoš from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. Since the age of six, she has been playing instruments from the collection of Uroš Žikić from Belgrade.

Lana attends intensive weeks with the world’s most eminent violin professors at the Music Academy in Liechtenstein.

She was a guest on various radio and television shows: “Mira Adanja – Polak i ja”, RTS, “Friends forever” and “Good morning, Vojvodina” RTV1, “Active Culture” Riverwest Radio, Milwaukee, USA, “Usual but excellent” RTV1, “The Alphabet of Parenting” Novi Sad TV, “Dnevnik” RTS 1, “Nacionalni Dnevnik” RTV Pink.
She speaks Serbian and English fluently, and is learning Italian, German and Russian.
