Luis Agius

Luis Agius (Madrid, 1969) is a composer, pianist, writer and musical journalist.He began his musical studies in 1981 and composed his first musical work in 1990.He has released two albums of piano, “Twelve Klavierstücke”(1994) and “Interiores” (2001). He has recorded with the sponsorship of the Fundación Autor first Opera “Monsalvat” (2005) and featured recitales- concert of poetry and piano in various Spanish capital since 2001 (Madrid, Pamplona, Alicante, etc.) and abroad, Bratislava (2002 ) and Brussels (2005 and 2009) sponsored by the Ministry of Government Foreign Affairs from Spain.Even more Luis Agius has published two theatre plays “Everyone Albert Camus” (2010) and “My name is Sarah” (2013) both edited by Editions Antígona and the last prized in 2015. Agius has recorded a recital of piano pieces by Chopin and a large piano piece tribute to the victims of the tsunami and earthquake in Japan 2011 “Tsunami in Sendai and Tokyo Sunrise”. His last recording comprises several Beethoven piano sonatas from the “Manuscript Sileski” (2013) Their latests book are “Músicos ante el Abismo”(“At the abyss Musicians”)published by Oportet Publishers (two editions) and “El Paraíso esquivo” edited by Vision Libros.He has played a piano recital also in Lisbon, Palacio Foz, on 21 th October 2015, sponsored for Portugal Government and Spanish Embassy in Portugal and titled “Pessoa-Lorca: a brief encounter between Portugal and Spain” and a tour for Germany in 2016 (Berlin, Leipzig, and Kunsthalle Munich).Also Luis Agius is the only pianist who has offered two recitals in Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum Madrid, in April 2018, and in the Festival de Colombes in Paris in July 2018.Agius is a very recognized musical journalist and critic from 2014 whit his owner section in MELOMANO review, titled “El pastor en la roca” (The shepperd on the rock) and writing every month in “RITMO” one more importants musical reviews of Spain from 2017 until 2019- the section “El laúd de Vermeer”, “Vermeer´s luth” articles about painture and music- one more importants musical reviews of Spain.Present day, Luis Agius is the director and editor –from 1 th November 2018-of the digital cultural magazine PARNASO DE LAS ARTES, one of the most prestigious cultural on line magazine in Spain and South America in countries as Argentina, México and Chile and he has published more than
20 articles about music and literature, and several interviews whit the most important cultural vips in Spain (Joan Matabosch, artistic director of Teatro Real, Madrid, David Afkham, chief conductor of Spain National Orchestra, Guillermo Solana, Artistic Director of Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, etc)
