ArtLink-Société Générale Most Promising Young Artist in Serbia Award for 2015 conferred at Belgrade City Hall

ArtLink-Société Générale Young Talents’ Music Cycle three years in a row, throughout the year, donates artistic programs to young music talents through which they advance their skills, develop their repertoire, and perform in renowned concert venues, with pre-eminent mentors. The prestigious ArtLink-Société Générale Most Promising Young Artist in Serbia Award is conferred as a part of the program. The Award was won by, now already prominent artists of the younger generation, violinists Stanko Madić, Una Stanić, Natalija Isaković, and David Horvat, pianists Sanja Bizjak, Mirjana Rajić, and Sara Vujadinović, cellists Nemanja Stanković and Irena Josifoska, and guitarist Vojin Kocić. The 2015 Award was, for the first time, presented to a brass player, hornist Urmin Nes Majstorović.

“The Evening of the Laureates” concert, held at Belgrade City Hall on 14 December, presented the most awarded and the best young musicians who refined their skills during the past two years within the ArtLink-Société Générale Young Talents’ Music Cycle. They are Petar Pejčić, Dunja Kalamir, Vuk and Anja Ovaskainen, David Horvat, Vladimir Aćimović, Una Miljuš, Dušan Dakić and Urmin Majstorović.

The evening’s program included the works by Beethoven, Haydn, Rachmaninov, Debussy, Popper, and Sibelius. At the opening of the concert, Ms Jovanka Višekruna Janković, Artistic Director of ArtLink and the Young Talents’ Music Cycle, and Ms Maria Rousseva, President of the Executive Board of Société Générale Serbia officially conferred the Award to the young horn-player Urmin Majstorović.

The young laureate, Urmin Nes Majstorović, will also perform the traditional New Year’s Concert at the Kolarac Endowment Concert Hall, on 3 January 2016 at 12:00, with guest artists and in cooperation with the Centre for Music of the Kolarac Endowment. The guest artists at the concert will be violinists Una Stanić and David Horvat, pianist Uki Ovaskainen and others. ArtLink has prepared a present for the concert audience – the new CD release of violinist David Horvat, winner of the 2014 Award.
