Born in 1995 Filip Cwizewicz began his violin studies taught by his brother Michał, with whom he now gives frequent concerts in their duo Cwizewicz Brothers. He has performed solo at Wigmore Hall, Milton Court Hall, the Barbican, Stationers Hall, and live on BBC Radio 3.
Recent performances include the Tchaikovsky and Sibelius concertos with the TSO and others and are principal second violinist of the Górecki Chamber Orchestra, previously a leader of LSSO and the Purcell School Symphony Orchestra. He is a prize-winner of international competitions such as Lipizer Violin Competition, Augustin Aponte Competition. Solo concerts abroad have taken him to France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Switzerland and South Korea. He has attended masterclasses with Felix Andrievsky, Cihat Askin, Rivka Golani and Krzysztof Śmietana. In 2012, he began studying with Itzhak Rashkovsky with whom he now continues at the Royal College of Music.
Since 2019 he has been a violin teacher at the Enhui Music School in London. He plays a Milanese 1933 Giuseppe Ornati violin kindly on loan from Florian Leonhard Fine Violins.
